Preparing For Puppy

Great news! We have finally decided to get a puppy! I can't even begin to explain how incredibly excited I am! As far back as I can remember, I have had a love for Golden Retrievers. I mean, what's not to love? Besides being super cute, they are intelligent, loving, and loyal. I was seriously thinking about getting one when Jeff and I met 5 years ago. Jeff reminded me that I was working 3 jobs, living in a small apartment, and rarely ever home. Good point....I guess. Now that we are married, each of us working one job, and have a wonderful fenced-in backyard, there doesn't seem to be any better time like the present!

Right after we got home from our Honeymoon, I started searching for the perfect Golden Retriever breeder. I finally found one located in Columbia City, IN. The best part is that their puppies will be available "around April 8th." So, Jeff and I put down a deposit and are now in the process of waiting for the weeks to pass by. What I love so much about this breeder is that she sends us weekly pictures of the puppies as they grow! This is their 4 week picture...this week, they experienced their "first real meal!" Looks kind of gross and messy, I'm glad I wasn't the one who had to clean up after that!



In this litter, there are 8 boys and 2 girls. We decided we wanted a boy. The breeder lets you select your puppy in the order they receive your deposit. As of right now, we have the 4th pick. I look at a picture like this and wonder, how on earth will we ever decide between all these adorable little faces?! This is going to be harder than I thought....
